Thomas, Connie, and Geoff - I just wanted to send big well wishing, huge vibes, healthy thoughts, crossed body parts, the kitchen sink and everything else I can think to throw in (or even things I haven't yet thinked of) for Thomas' surgery on Tuesday and pre-op tomorrow. At least you'll be in a nice hospital with nice paintings to look at. And pretty gardens. And the weather is lovely. Those are all excellent signs for an awesome surgery, right?
Be good Thomas, and come out of there all more perfect than you already are!!!!

Hi Connie and Thomas, I am sorry that I was not aware of a surgery, I hope it is not too serious. But I would like to wish you an uneventful surgery and recovery. Hang in there you tough boy, you have had your share.

Thanks for the well-wishes. Yep--sinus surgery #3, using computer guided technology, hopefully by the best of the best. They will be clearing areas in the frontal, ethmoid and sphenoid sinuses that were not entered in previous surgeries (I assume may have been too difficult/delicate to do without the image-guided technique). Leaving soon and hoping this will be IT--he has been quite miserable for several months.

We are out of surgery. Thomas is not up to being online, so for once I have access to his laptop. We were at the hospital at 5:30 this morning. Surgery was at 7:30 and lasted about 4 hours. They went into all 8 sinuses and also did septoplasty. In recovery he therw up, then had a headache, so didn't get out of there until about 3:30. So that was a long day. Got plenty of Vicodin, and he'll be on Augmentin and prednisone for a couple of weeks. Then we shall see; the doctor said it went well and was pleased with the results. So barring any unlikely complications, we'll be home tomorrow.
Stanford is quite the posh medical center--pretty awesome. The artwork alone is worth a fortune.

Connie, that certainly is a long day, and I am glad that Thomas is finally out of surgery. Yes, Stanford is beautiful (but it sure is a hassle to get to)!

Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.

I shoulda come here first before I emailed you. So disregard the email. I'm so glad all went well!!!! I hope that Thomas is feeling much better for his drive home tomorrow. I can see by his photo next to you that he looks better already.
Yeah - that artwork is pretty amazing. Nice of those rich people to donate paintings, isn't it?
