My husband just found out that the issues he has been having for over a year since takedown are due to having way too much cuff/rectum left - about 7 cm. He has been diagnosed with 'proctitis'. We are hoping the topical treatments will help but just in case wanted to know how others have down with mucosectomy as we have been warned this can be very difficult. Thanks in advance!

Question:
Of those who have had a mucosectomy, how do you feel about your decision?

Choices:
100% glad I did it - feel awesome now.
Pretty happy with my choice - much improved.
Unsure - made some difference but not significant.
Was not worth it at all.

Question:
Length of time since mucosectomy:

Choices:
up to 3 months
4-6 months
7 months to 1 year
> 1 year

Question:
Mucosectomy surgery was:

Choices:
Part of other surgery (e.g. pouch redo, with takedown).
Stand-alone surgery (e.g. post original surgeries).

Question:
How much cuff/rectum did you have left after colectomy?

Choices:
1-2 cm
3-6 cm
7-9 cm
none
unknown/other
