J-Pouch vs. Permanent Stoma

I have been diagnosed with rectal cancer and I have apparently Attenuated Familial Adenomatous Polyposis, which means after age 50 I started to produce polpys due to my genetic history. I have about 15 polyps left in me following a colonoscopy, and I have one cancerous polyp in my rectum which is now being treated with radiation and chemo prior to surgery. So I would love your recommendations on surgery.

Question:
Given my age (61), and the situation described above, do you think it would be better for me to have a J-Pouch or a permanent stoma with ostomy bag for the rest of my life?

Choices:
Go for the J-Pouch, it's worth it
Go for the permanent stoma, it's less hassle

Question:
If you had (or have had) colon cancer, would you still prefer a J-Pouch over the permanent stoma with ostomy bag?

Choices:
Yes
No
