These questions are directed to those of you who have had the two-step j-pouch surgery (removal of colon with creation of j-pouch and temporary loop ileostomy, then takedown to remove the ileostomy and restore the small intestine function). I know that everybody's different, but I'm trying to get a handle on your experiences, as I contemplate scheduling my own takedown surgery. I'm trying to estimate how much time I should plan to be off work. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Question:
How long were you hospitalized for your takedown surgery?

Choices:
1 week or less
1 to 2 weeks
2 to 3 weeks
3 to 4 weeks
4 to 5 weeks
5 to 6 weeks
6 to 7 weeks
7 to 8 weeks
Longer than 8 weeks

Question:
After your discharge from the hospital, how long did you wait to return to work or to return to your normal activities?

Choices:
Less than 1 week
1 week
2 weeks
3 weeks
4 weeks
5 weeks
6 weeks
7 weeks
8 weeks
More than 8 weeks
