I find myself either laughing or cursing at the TV when these various commercials are aired. I'm sure you all share my amusement/disdain, lol. (My boyfriend laughs at me when he catches me flipping off the TV, LOL.)
Miralax - "no gentler way to get you regular" Activia - aww, poor you, you aren't regular? boo hoo Duculax - it's so gentle! ha! I'm sure there are more, but those are the ones off the top of my head. Please share your reactions to these commercials, and feel free to add the ones I'm not remembering! ~Mel~ Dx w/UC Jan 2007 Colectomy w/temp end ileo (step 1): 5/22/09 J-Pouch creation (step 2): 12/21/09 Takedown (step 3): 4/26/10 |

I don't know about the current commercials, as I miss out on them here, but I always thought the earlier ones with the belly doing the hula dance in the middle of a normal body were pretty funny. Trust me, folks, my belly has NEVER felt like that!

I hate those UC/Crohns commercials. I feel like they make us look like such wussies.

What is really annoying to me is the commercial for the hockey player with UC. He's like, I may have cramps, bloating, discomfort, diarrhea. How about blood pouring from you? Everyone I've talked to hardly knows what UC is, and I blame uninformational commercials like this one.
Another one that drives me insane is the commercial promoting colonoscopies. A guy picks a lima bean out of his mashed potatoes like its a pollop. First off, eww. Second, he goes, yeah, it's no big deal. LIAR!! It's the most miserable procedure one could elect to do. I guess its better to lie to people so they can stay healthy... |

I totally disagree. Colonoscopies was a total cake walk. I had a flex sig while I was awake. I'd rather do a colonoscopy any day of the week compared to that. 'Plop-plop-fizz-fizz-oh what a relief it is...' I loved pepto bysmol for their commercials...'I can't believe I ate the Whole Thing'...'I think it was the cupcake'...You had to have IBD in the 70's to appreciate these very first commercials that spoke about digestive distress...You think that we could get a copy of them from somewhere?

My favorite was a Pepto commercial from a few years ago with various people singing "Nausea, Heartburn, Indigestion, Upset Stomach, Diarrhea". Anyone else remember that
