Last Tuesday it was a general strike day here in France and so my Step-daughter decided to give me my 4yr old step-grand-daughter for the day (first time alone without her brother or grandpa!)...everyone worried about me being too tired etc...So off we went to the open-air market for groceries and on the way back we walked through the park...with 2 huge toboggan slides (4 stories high!)...the little one asked if she could go...she has never gone up alone usually have help from her 6yr old brother or Pappy..
I said yes, but that I couldn't help her up...she answered, 'I know, you still have a boo-boo in your tummy and mommy said that you can't pick me up or carry me but I will go all alone and have fun and when your boo-boo is better you can slide and have fun too.'
I guess that that is how I will know when I am healed....when I can climb and slideBig Grin with my grand-kids...
Ps...we spent the rest of the afternoon baking mini muffins Big Grin

NO, not at all...this means that if you are me, and you went way too fast after surgery and gave yourself a hernia(I wen back on the stair masster 6 weeks post op! and tried weight lifting etc...)and then after the hernia reapari I did it again and gave myself 4 hernias in all + multiple complications..That this is not the time to be over doing it!
I climb stairs and hills to get to/from places but no longer think that I am superman...(I am 50 too!)
I have learned that we all have limits and that after having multiple abdominal surgeries (in the dozens!) that my body is not what it should be any more..So...just don't over do it and go slow until you are healed properly.
