Okay well, just so you all know, I'm 15 (so an ileostomy wasn't exactly my idea of fun) and this actually happened to me...

well i have 3 brothers, 1 that's a year younger than me & twins that are 11..we told the 14 year old but not the twins so we'd empty my ileostomy in the garage where they wouldn't see it..i refused to empty this thing by myself and this may be wierd but we would get a ziplock bag and i would hold it while my mom emptied it and then we'd just throw it out....well the one day my mom was not in a good mood and you know how if the "stuff" is really runny, it comes out really fast? well my mom would undo the velcro things while i was opening the bag...........and i didn't get it under in time....well i think you know what happens next.....WHOOSH!! i saw her face and completely split my legs so i didn't get hit (amazingly) but we went from really bad moods to completely cracking up...my mom just called my dad and he came out to clean it up while my mom closed my bag up and i went to go shower (i know i didn't get hit but i just wanted to be sure) that's one of the few things we can laugh about now that it's over....i have a few more stories that i'll post when my dad isn't giving me a dirty look to get off the computer

You have a great attitude. I really admire you. I was 34 when I got my bag and thought I would die if my husband saw it.

I had a few mishaps and like you my mom was there to "catch me" and pull back up.
