Hard pieces in stool.

Hi all. This is my first post, necessitated by the lack of a resolution to a problem I'm having. Had 1 stage j pouch surgery on 18 oct 2011. Surgery went well, with no complications. Started on gastroscope 2 tabs 3 times a day and am now down to just 2 a day. Also take benefibre twice a day. Since my motions firmed up I have been having lots of pain because of hard pieces in my motions. It feels like I am passing little rocks. Other than that I feel great. I have tried dropping both the gastroscope and benefibre down further but this brings on a bout of frequent and loose motions, not to mention more pain and butt soreness.
Has anyone else experienced this, and have they found a solution?

Yes and I cut out the immodium and fiber all together and ate a bland diet including mac and cheese. Then I gradually added back fiber and now very seldom use immodium. I also found the bagels really slow things down plus pasta. Some of the things you mix with pasta burn, that's where the mac and cheese help. Yogurt, peanut butter sandwich or on crackers and applesauce are good too. Smoothies are awesome as well. Oatmeal is good too.

It's like a big juggling of different foods, fiber, immodium, pain medication (which slows things down).

Always use babywipe and not toilet paper is the first important thing to keep you anus in good health. Second, do not eat any : nuts, corn, raw vegetables or mushrooms. These come out exactly as you ate them. So they might block you passage. Third, I use an anal catheter. It's very good for letting your anal skin to heal and giving you a break, and at the same time, you are keeping your passage open without having to be dilated all the time. Insert the catheter slowly (put some numbing cream on it first) and get rid of your stool that way. It saved me. Good luck
