Dear Tazzie,

I'm not knowledgeable about this, but I think that Xitalianchick has had the same or similar problem and maybe she (and others) will check in soon with much helpful information.

Good luck.

Tazzie,
I'm not clear on that specific type of fistula, as mine is ano-vaginal. However, if you go into the women's forum, there is a post entitled "Fistula Gals Wontcha Come Out" that has quite a few posts on it from those of us suffering from various kinds of fistulas. That may help with some information.
I know the general symptoms of the vaginal fistulas are passing stool or gas vaginally, as was the case in my situation. It did take several tests before my surgeon found it in September. It can be a frustrating process, but there are many of us that are in the same boat and several different treatment options.
Good luck!

Michelle

I was diagnosed with FAP right after I turned 19. ( I am now 25) I had my colon removed and now I have been suffering with a rectovaginal fistula thats now attached to my j-pouch for just a little over 6 years. I basically only have stool coming out my vagina and only a little rectally, thats how bad it has gotten. I am supposed to have a j-pouch revision this month or next month where they go in and completely cut out my pouch and redo everything like the very 1st surgery. But bc its my 24th surgery I may need the ileostomy for life due to scar tissue. Do you know what treatment option you have? I hope everything goes well with you all. I know its not easy on this end but truthfully its nice to know i am not alone with my diagnosis. i hope we can talk sometime. Rachael
