Usually I go about 12 times a day, its very watery and my stomach makes demonic grumbling noises 24/7.

But this started yesterday. I all of a sudden got very nauseous and had a really bad headache. I ate, then my stomach started to hurt. I went to the bathroom only about 5 times yesterday, and the stool was very hard. Now today, I can't go at all. And my stomach is SILENT. Nothings moving, and nothings making noises. It's freaking me out because every time I get blockages, the pain in unimaginable. By the pain really isn't that bad. It feels like my intestines came to a standstill.

Anyone have an idea as to what the problem could be?

ps; I figured I'd throw this out there. I don't know if it has anything to do with my symptoms, but you never know. I received the meningitis vaccine and Gardasil yesterday. All my symptoms began literally after 10 minutes of getting the shots. Could I have had a reaction?

That's usually how my blockages start. It's quiet and there's no pain and no output. The more time that passes though the more pain comes. It sounds like the beginnings of one to me but you've had them before and know what they feel like so perhaps it's not. Just keep your eye on it and you know what to do if it turns in to one.
I would limit your diet and intake to a more liquid diet or soft diet until things get regulated. Good luck!

Actually, Gardasil is the vaccine for HPV (for cervical cancer prevention), not meningitis. Sounds like an ileus (with the silent gut), very strange and not a listed side effect. However, this is a brand new vaccine, so it is possible that you had a weird reaction. If things don't return to normal soon, you should probably call your doctor; not so much for treatment, but to report it to the manufacturer. Of course, if you develop pain, distention, nausea and vomiting, you know the drill....

no, no, I mean, I got them both yesterday. I think the meningitis one was MCV4.

I would do some exercise, such as walking to make the bowel move active.

Good luck

Sorry, I misread your post. In any event, while it is not likely to be related, it is not impossible. Are things moving better today?

Thing ARE moving, but very painfully. I feel like I'm trying to pass a watermelon. Everything is very hard. I also have a generally nasty stomachache. I was going to try to fast today and just flush everything with massive amounts of water, but that only lasted until 9 this morning, where I saw a delicious sticky bun calling my name. I've concluded that I probably just have some kind of virus. I don't know if constipation is normal with viruses, but oh well. Usually they have the complete opposite effect for me. I'm just exhausted and have a general feeling of malaise.

Well, if you are on any bowel slowers, now would be a good time to lay off of them. Lots of liquids sounds like a good idea and I think that if you just avoid the heavy roughage and try to keep it simple, you'll be OK. If you were completely blocked, that sticky bun would have come right back up...
