Hey Everyone,
I had my first step for the J-Pouch surgery on 7th august.Right now I can see a little pus coming out from the stitches around the stoma and its hurting as well. I am a little worried that is it infection and if so how bad it is !!! Anyone had such kind of pus discharge from the stitches around the stoma? Pls help I am a little scared.

Don't panic. It probably is a bit of an infection, but it sounds pretty superficial. Call your doc in the morning and they'll take a look.

Thanks a lot...I am worried about infection coz I have my right hip replacement done with metal-on metal joint and don't want the joint to get infected.I am 27yrs old and want my joint to last longer .Also was worried about having an abscess and going to hospital to drain it.
Anyways, thanks a lot for your reply. It really did calm me down.thank you

With your joint replacement, they probably will want to put you on antibiotics as a precaution, even with a superficial infection. Hope all goes well!
