There are three hotels on the Cleveland Clinic campus. You can locate the information at the Cleveland Clinic website. I just returned from spending two weeks at the Intercontinental Suites hotel. They will give you a weekly and monthly rate if you ask. A lot of people stay at the Guesthouse. The Suites hotel had a microwave oven and refrigerator. The Guesthouse has free parking the other two have valet parking. There is a shuttle bus that operates between all of the Cleveland Clinic buildings.

I also stayed at the Intercontinental during my recent visit. It was the more expensive option but I figured I'd stay in luxury and treat myself. Here is the link on the CC site for lodging:
http://cms.clevelandclinic.org/body.cfm?id=142 I believe the Guesthouse was about $100-$140 per night and I think the Intercontinental was about $300 per night. Definitely make sure they know you're a patient because you get a little better rate. The Intercontinental is connected to the hospital by a walkway but I believe they're all relatively close. If anyone has any input on the Guesthouse I'd like to know. I'll be going out for surgery in the coming months and, while I like the more luxurious hotel, I'm not sure it's feasible to pay that much for many nights. Erin I live for my son! I stayed at the Intercontinental. It is attached to the clinc, which is a nice feature. If you make the reservations on line, it's cheaper, you can change the date once you make the reservation, but if you cancel, there is no refund.

I too stayed at the Intercontinental. It’s a bit more pricy than the others but the convenience was well worth it. There is a sky walk from the hotel to the hospital and the GI/Colo-Rectal unit is right there.
I literally would be back in my hotel room 10 mins after my appointment, which is important if you are getting scoped or something done you'll be groggy or uncomfortable afterwards. Good Luck 6M$S (Bill) |

Having lived in the Cleveland area for five years, with three of those being in Cleveland Heights, which was literally no more than 10 minutes from the Clinic, I'd recommend anything attached to the Clinic. I recollect there being few if any hotels near there (outside of the Intercontinental, Guest House, and the third unnamed option mentioned by the others) unless things have changed substantially in the past three years. Otherwise, you'll need to head downtown or out to the suburbs to find other hotels. The trip between the Clinic and downtown can be a bit frightening at night (not a pretty neighborhood).

I have a July appointment at CC and will stay as I always do at the Intercontinental Suites, not the newest of the three hotels on campus, but a good value. If you are a CC patient, the cost is $159 per night plus $l5 per night to keep your car there. It's fine for my purposes and is not as expensive as the newest hotel there.

I have stayed at the Intercontinental Suites for a week, the Guest House, and also at the Hilton Garden Inn out by the interstate. Hilton Garden Inn gave a hospital rate of $89 a night. I had the room for family only because I could not get anything closer to the clinic. It was nice, and only about a 3 mile drive in to the clinic. As far as the Suites or Guest House, the Suites are definitely nicer, but for my money...the Guesthouse was fine. It has mini fridge, microwave and studio's are also available. The great thing is the shuttle between any of the buildings. I guess it just boils down to where you want to spend your money!! My family was with me most of the day in the hospital, so used the room mostly to sleep, shower and grab a quick bite.

GO TO THE RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE!!! that's where my family stayed when I was in the hospital and they loved it. It's in walking distance, only $20 a night, 2 kitchens with microwaves and fridges, a laundry room, and a lot of areas to sit down and watch tv. The only catch is if you use their sheets or blankets or towels or w.e you have to wash them before you leave...but if you don't want to do that then you can bring your own things. It was so convenient though and they also have free shuttles that go to and from the House to the Clinic...my parents loved it.
17 year old female diagnosed with UC in May 2004.. Medications: NONE :-) Step 1 of a 3-step surgery was May 1st...no hurry to get the 2nd and 3rd done though...I'm enjoying life way too much right now! |

I've stayed at the 'Suites', the 'Conference Center'(attached to CC) and a hotel downtown.
For the money I'd choose the suites. The Intercontinental shuttle bus took us both ways to a restaurant in Little Italy. They will provide the service if the shuttle isn't busy (not the CC one that 'tours' the clinic with passengers.) If you are a AAA member check the hotel AAA price against the CC patient price. For one of our stays the AAA price was less. Just depends on the day. Leslie Kock 1979; end ileo 2003; Kock 2006 |

Lesrich1--when you go into Little Italy via the shuttle (so great that they allow that!), do you choose "La Dolce Vita" on the corner with a few tables on the sidewalk in summer? One has to drink any wine from a teacup because of the local laws, but the food is yummy and one can choose from lots of low residue items. It's definitely my favorite part of any trip to the Clinic! So good to have something to look forward to besides the hope of feeling better from treatment.

We have been twice to Trattoria Roman Gardens. It is very much a family restaurant and was recommended by two different people.
Out timing is all wrong. Our visits have always been in winter so we've never been able to walk the area. Kock 1979; end ileo 2003; Kock 2006 |
