My husband just had the jpouch created with a loop ileo on Feb 1. He has about a 1/2 cup (guessing!) mucousy discharge from his rectum. Not bloody! Is this normal or something to worry about.

This is normal. Same thing happened to me at that stage. Happens to most of us. It's the small intestine's natural lubrication, which is a good thing; it keeps the plumbing clean and helps things move along.
He shouldn't force it out, just let it come out when he's on the throne.

Its normal. it wont happen has much as time goes on but it will happen from time to time. When he feels the need just use the br.

Yup, it's normal. He also may experience it during sleep with no control over it. I used to sleep on a towel and wear a panty liner.
