Other than the hard stool and the "clear" CT scan, sounds like a classic blockage. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can chime in on your symptoms.

Sounds like a partial obstruction to me, except fo the nausea and vomiting. Were you checked for an anal stricture or a pouch stricture? These may not show on the CT and would be visualized on scope or by digital exam. Jan
Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.

I've had similar prblems that turned out to be just gas. But, I have never had a problem with hard stools with a j-pouch. Another j-poucher said to drink a little wine to relax the bowels, it works. But not the greatest advise to do. Good luck.

I get nausea and vomiting whenever I have a partial blockage although I also pass liquid stools. Susan

Has this blockage been resolved yet? You sound like me - every 4 months I end up in the ER with a blockage. The ER doc doesn't know much about J-Pouches - so I tell him a bit what a J-Pouch is and tell them to do what they have done in the past. AND it works. Other than the worthless X-RAYS and blood test they have to do to rule out what ever; they do what I say. Pain meds and IV fluids and I'm good to go home with in a day. So now when this seems to start up - I take a Percocet, lay with the heating pad on my belly, sip water and prune juice - and so far that works, too. I think the pain meds work like the one guy said the wine works - relaxes the gut. Wine doesn't work for my blockages, though. I do drink it when I'm feeling well.

I am now home from a 6 day hospital stay. I am feeling better and was sent home with anti-biotics because at the hospital I had a scope down the throat and up the pouch and the pouch showed inflamation and my stomach was not emptying. I am not quite sure if anyone knows what went on or if I have a clue either. I do feel better and I am thankful for that. My thanks to all you j-pouchers who offered advice and help. I feel so well I almost don't want to take my anti-biotics, they seem to do a number on my stomach. Any advise on what I should do?

OMG, so sorry you have to go through the frustration of not knowing...I find that to be the most difficult. I have no words of wisdom..but peace to offer. Sue
