Sounds like an obstruction. If the pain becomes severe/disabling, or you begin vomiting, you need to go to the ER. Otherwise, withhold solid foods, drink lots of liquids, move around a lot, and even try massaging your abdomen. Some people get obstructions to break loose by rocking back and forth on all fours or standing on their head. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that this blows over. Sometimes it can go on for days. I suppose you have just learned the lesson on moderation.... Jan

Thanks. After 15 years you'd think you're done learning lessons I am hoping it will resolve on it's own. It's painful but tolerable. I figured vomiting would be the sign that it's time to seek further assistance as well. Some stool is still getting through so I am just drinking some green tea and hoping it will move through. With an office job and a retail job after the office job, there's really not any place to go to get down on all fours and roll around or massage my stomach so I'm just trying to move around more in my chair, which I'm sure looks weird.

I had my surgery in 1995 and still get a partial obstruction from time to time. Usually, it had nothing to do with what I ate. I suppose you can give your office a show. Probably would be pretty entertaining! Jan

Just wanted to check in and let you know that things cleared up Friday night and then felt more like the normal, partial blockage I'm used to getting from time to time. Over the weekend, that resolved as well.
Cure? Working at my 2nd job for four hours, which involves standing and a lot of walking, followed by copious amounts of white rice and red wine. Go figure, but that's what I wanted.

White rice helped? Wow! That's sort of counter-intuitive isn't it? But I'm a big believer of cravings being what your body needs. I'm glad it's all fixed. kathy

I think the rice maybe helped "wake up" the area and the wine helped add as a lubricant. White rice for me is something that is just super, super easy to digest. I picture the rice and wine acting as a sort of scrubber and helped rinse the stopped up area clean. Yeah, I believe in giving in to cravings too. I actually ate WAY more rice than I would normally eat, which may have also helped. The volume may have helped to push things through.
