I had really bad pain in upper stomach after eating lobster last week and now i have it again but i ate a potatoe and quesadilla tonight. I cant sleep it hurts what could this be i had jpouch one year.

Do you still have your gall bladder? If so, you should have it checked out.

In my case, I have found pain in the upper stomach was cause by gas that I had trouble passing.

One thing that helped with this was laying down on my left side and bending my knees to a 90 degree position, as well as hips(sort of like a seating position, but on side).

Antoher thing that helped was taking antacid. Although if you continue it have pain there, it should be checked by a doctor. You could have an ulcer.

You should call your doctor if this persists, because this is not normal at all, and could be any number of things from a peptic ulcer, inflamed gallbladder, gastric reflux, hiatal hernia, etc. It probably has little to do with what you are eating.
