I have not had takedown yet but I do have some BM that is getting through to the pouch. I am passing a little blood and mucous when I pass BM. It is just enough to make the tp pink and sometimes a little red. Is this okay?

Sounds normal. Don't you wish the surgeon would TELL patients these things ahead of time though? I wondered the same thing way back when I had my surgery.

Yeah, I just want to make sure that I am not brewing up some problem that needs to be taken care of before I get cleared for TD

perfectly ok after three weeks of your pouch creation. I had corrective surgery and just after three weeks my stoma kind of bent and basically I would say I was emptying 80% through my rectum I only emptied my ostomy bag maybe 2-3 times a day. I called my surgeon and ended up seeing him at 6 weeks, it was Dr. Fazio by the way, and he said if I can "soldier on" it will actually be better for my in the end. He said I'll be a step ahead when it comes to my takedown, in muscle control and leakage. By the way I also had mucus and blood too. And I even had blood for a couple weeks after my takedown.
