I have been fighting something. The G.I. says I have pouchitis and also had inflamation in the stomach. I tried levaquin and flagyl yet they made me so sick. I started cipro last night and it seems easier on my stomach. Randomly I feel in my small intestine that it is expanding and then will quickly deflate. Sometimes I can sctually see it. It isn't painful but more scary and uncomfortable to me. Has anyone experienced anyhting similar with pouchitis or with something else? Am I going to burst or what? Is it just food moving through? Did the GI give you anything for your stomach like Prevacid or the like? If the expansion you feel is in the same place every time, it's possible you have a stricture or a twist or kink that is causing a small partial obstruction that is keeping things from moving along properly. When I had that I had nausea also though.

You will probably not burst, but keep on top of this with your doctor and let him know all of your symptoms.
