I am 3 months post takedown and 2 weeks ago started having trouble emptying my pouch - only a little comes out most times. I have had a couple of bouts of extreme pain (feels like the worst gas pain ever) that is not relieved by vomiting and/or going to the bathroom.
I have had a scope - pouch looks good. Small Bowel series revealed no problems. Surgeon recommends a CAT scan of abdomen next. I am reticent to eat anything and have lost 5 pounds in the last week in addition to the 15 lost since the surgery. I try to eat a little in the morning and midday and hope that it goes through without the extreme pain returning. I hope to get back to eating regularly soon. If anyone has any advice or ideas - I am grateful for your input. Thanks in advance. Dirk |

Hi Dirk,
Until you and your surgeon can come up with an answer make sure you drink plenty of fluids. You don't want to get dehydrated and maybe drink some Ensure Plus or something similar. Since you aren't eating too much you can get some good calories and protein from the Ensure. Hope you can get some answers soon Scott |
