Given how soon out of surgery you are and the ileus you've already had, I suggest calling the surgeon asap. If you are still having pain that you would term severe, I would go to the ER (sorry, I know that's no fun) just in case. What hospital are you using and which surgeon - I'm in Boston and I've seen 6 different CR surgeons in the area...

I agree, the low grade elevation is not really concerning, but with the pain, I think something is going on that needs investigating. You can get low grade elevations of that nature from dehydration alone. Could just be kinks from adhesions that still haven't settled yet, but I think this needs reevaluation. Your doc may want to still wait and see, but it is important that you keep in touch to keep him up to date on your symptoms. The docs assume you are doing well when you do not call. It is the doc who should be making the judgment call, not the patient. Jan
Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.

Jill, my doctor is Dr. Joel Goldberg at the Brigham and Women's Hospital. I was hospitalized on Sunday. They did a cat scan and found no problems except they did find some clots so now I am on levonox and coumadin. I still run fevers up to 100.0 every day and I am having lots of pelvic and rectal pain and pressure. They can't find anything wrong so they are saying it is normal healing pain. But I didn't have this pain or fever a couple of weeks ago. Has anyone experienced this? Let me know please. Still in the hospital....

How is your output? Is it possible you are having some partial obstruction issues? Is the pain acute or like spasms?
Diane Bryant is an ET nurse at the Brigham and she is REALLY helpful, even with non-stoma stuff. Since you are in patient anyway, it might be worth asking to see her and see what she thinks. She's been working iwth j-pouche patients for a very long time.
