I was doing very well,(no antibiotics, 6-8 stools per day, etc.) and had an appt to see a new gastro. He did a quick scope, and ever since, I have had symptoms of pouchitis. Can the scoping anger the pouch? I will call him back tomorrow to see if they have any ideas.

Also, how do you all get sleep at night when the pouch problems are going on? I am up at least once an hour, and completely wiped out for work the next day. Any suggestions for these would be great.

Thanks!

I've not experienced much discomfort after a scope; I don't know whether a scope would aggravate pouchitis - I would think that it's possible, though.

For your sleep problems, you could try a couple of pepto bismol before bedtime, or something like immodium, until you get some feedback from your doctor. I hope you get this resolved soon - been there, done that - I understand how debilitating those nights can be.
