Mucous is normal; stool must be slipping past the ostomy, so that is normal, too. The slight bleeding could be some diversionary colitis (which might also account for the increase in mucous, not sure). That should resolve after the ostomy is closed.

I realize that you are getting apprehensive, but you need to take a couple of deep breaths and just relax a little. Everything is fine.

You started a thread on July 7th stating that you were a month from takedown and you were concerned because you were expelling mucous several times a day. Board members advised you that that was normal and you responded that you felt better knowing that.

Then, last week, on July 22, you started another thread stating that you were now three weeks from takedown and stating once again that you were concerned about expelling mucous, stool and blood several times a day. You added that you had talked with your surgeon and he told you that it was normal. However, you still asked here whether there was anything that you should be concerned about. Once again, you were advised that everything should be fine.

You then created a thread the following day asking why bleeding was normal, and Jan provided you with an explanation.

Now, yesterday, you created this thread, putting HELP in the title, stating that you were now two weeks from takedown and once again stating that you have been expelling mucous and stool several times a day. When no one responded to your thread yesterday, you put in your own response today to bump it back up to the top of the page.

I don't know what else we can tell you. Your surgeon has told you this is normal, and several members here have done the same. I know that this is an anxious time for you, but you have to trust your doctor. According to your signature, your takedown is scheduled for a week from Friday. I'm sure that everything will go fine and want you to know that we'll be here to support you when you get out of the hospital and will be here to answer your questions and concerns following your takedown.

In the interim, just relax a little and try to look forward to the next step in the healing process.

Best of luck to you.

Your pouch is no where near your stomach..So stomach pain should be stomach pain and pouch pain should be lower or even in the back..
Hope this helps

No research required, Goose. If you click on a poster's name, all of their recent posts come up on one page. When I opened this thread and read your question, it sounded very familiar so before responding, I clicked on your name and read your other posts on the same subject.

Best wishes next Friday.
