I had that test 7 yrs ago. They put a iv in my arm, injected something first, I don't recall what that was, then I had to lay still while they took some pics. Then they injected the nuclear stuff and something to make my gallbladder spasm, then took a series of pics. I was supposed to tell them when the pain was the same as the pain that I was having. Well, I didn't need to tell them. They figured out all by themselves!
And BTW so has my mom who lost her gallbladder years ago and who is not a poucher. hope this helps, good luck Shannon UC DX 2-93 first step 6-93 jpouch & takedown 12-93 Life is complicated and not for the timid-Garrison Keillor |

I just wanted to thank everyone for all their help and good wishes. The HIDA scan came out in the normal span and I have choosen not to have my gallbladder out on wednesday as was scheduled. The surgeon still doesn't know this. He's on vac. until tommarrow and the GI doc said he handle notification. Anyway, it still hurts but changes and monitoring of diet help. The best thing now is: my biggest remaining problem is that my seat pillow for the car isn't helping (my butt hurts after driving for more that 45min). To find a better one, I must.
Have a good picnic weekend all. -sara |
