I feel a little better at the moment, but I woke up with no appetite today, which is rare for me. Ate a little this morning and a little more this afternoon with little bowel movements all day, which is also rare for me. By late afternoon I was in awful pain. Took pain med and did nothing for me. By about 10 I started vomitting and my daughter pointed out that my usually loud stomach hasn't made any noise tonight. Its now midnight and I stopped vomitting but still feel nasuea and still have mild pain. My husband is away on a business trip and I really don't know what is wrong. My docs are not that close to home and I'm afraid something's really wrong. Anyone ever have these symptoms?

Sounds like a blockage. Move around as much as you can. Drink warm liquids. Take hot baths.

You should give your doctor a call just to let him/her know what's going on. If you start vomiting again, you probably should go to the ER.

I hope it works its way out.

Just an update. I still have pain, although not quite as bad as yesterday. This morning my stomach was gurgling away and I went to the bathroom but just a little bit and it was very watery. Now no more noise. Should I eat today? I'm waiting for a call from the doctor, but that doesn't mean I'll get one today. Thanks.

If the stool is minimal and watery and the no noise means things still aren't moving, I would stay on liquids for awhile yet.

It's good that things are gurgling and you're passing some liquid, but you're definitely not in the clear. Even if the blockage passed, you can still be swollen in that area for a bit. I would stick to liquids for at least a day or two. Drink Ensure, hot tea, soup, make sure to stay hydrated. As long as you continue to pass liquid and the pain starts to subside you should be ok to start introducing soft foods. But definitely do so SLOWLY, don't chow down the first time, no matter how hungry you are.

Good luck! I hope you feel better soon.
