I had my gallbladder removed yesterday. Thank goodness they were able to do it laproscopically, even though my surgeon had less than high hopes due to scarring from my three j pouch surgeries. I think the srgery went very well, I have some pain under my right rib, of course, but nothing too bad. I did notice that my urine output has increased after the surgery. (They sent me home about two hours after the procedure.) It feels like I have to go constantly, about every half an hour or so, I need to go again. I feel as though I am emptying completely each time, but then half an hour later, I've got to go again! Each time go, it is a good amount, not just a trickle. There is no blood at all, and it is not dark, so that's good, but has anyone else experienced this? Last night I had to get up about 5 times in the six hours I managed to rest. I tried googling it, but just came up with one reference that listed it as a side effect of general anesthesia that I should definitely contact my doctor about. Before I rush off to him based on one article, I thought I'd see if anyone here has any thoughts or experiences.
Now I'm off to pee again!

I would think that it could initially be related to the IV fluids they gave you during surgery, but would expect it to settle down by today. I would consider calling the surgeon to ask about it and find out how long it should last.
