My husband had step one surgery in June. He had a small amount of mucus discharge from his rectum for the past month. Lately this discharge has increased to two or three times a day. Is this normal or could it be signs that his UC is returning to his rectum area. If this is the case, what can be done before reversal? Could UC return after a reversal in the rectum area and if so, would this be an ongoing issue with a j-pouch?

This is completely normal and is absolutely no indication of future pouch function. Not to worry. (But if your ARE worrying, give the doc a call.)

People have said that it gets much better after Take Down because your poop helps thicken it up. hope this helps David Go Colts |
