They may need to check your parathyroid glands. My Aunt had problems with calcium in her blood and that was the cause. She had to have them removed. She is doing well. I am not sure if UC has anything to do with it, but that was her problem. Good luck to you!!!!

I wonder if would be worth having your magnesium levels tested. You may want to ask your GI to test these too. Magnesium is required to regulate and utilize calcium. It is my understanding that chronic diarrhea (as with UC) will potentially lead a person's body to possess low levels of magnesium. It can't hurt to ask and be tested.

Whenever you have high levels of calcium, suspect parathyroid gland problems.
