i am having one removed at step 1, it is an external. anything i should be concerned about with this removal as far as the step 1 procedure along with the hemmrhoid??

what if the hemmroid has shrunk and is now undetectable? at its peak its pretty large and painful. surgery is friday and doctor was going to remove it. can this still be done if it has shrunk and went away?

Hemorrhoids really don't go away, but wax and wane. There is now probably a sentinel skin tag that probably needs to be removed or it will get irritated and inflamed from the liquid stool that is soon to follow. If you are really concerned about this, you need to discuss it further with your surgeon. You need to find out if he intends to do a full hemorrhoidectomy or just a rubber band ligation or similar. He may find that injecting it with a drug to sclerose it is enough.

The main thing is for you and your surgeon to be on the same page. If you really are uncomfortable with this, you need to settle it before you sign the consent form.
