Hi I had step 1 on 5/3/07. Since 5/5 I have been having headaches and running a low fever, no higher than 100.7 My surgeon said it might have been from prednisone withdrawl, so they put me on 5mg a day. In the interim she sent me for blood, urine and stool tests. Everything was normal except my sed rate which was 67. Have to go back and see her on 5/11. Any ideas on whats causing it and what other tests can they give me to find out whats going on. I am supposed to have step 2 on 5/22. Who knows now?

An elevated sedimentation rate is a nonspecific indication of inflammation somewhere in the body, so it does not tell you much. Low grade fever can be caused by dehydration, as can headaches, so that would be my first line of attack. Could be from the prednisone withdrawal, particularly if you had a rapid taper during the final 10 mg. Just keep watching the fever and if it continues on a consistent basis or begins to trend up, you need to look at infection as the source.

Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully it's nothing major.
