my colorectal surgeon wants to do this LIFT procedure on me. It is an acronym and stands for Ligation of Intersphincteric Fistula Tract The goal is to preserve the sphincter muscle as much as possible. I have had my pouch for 20 plus years and had a great outcome. 2.5 years ago I developed a fistula and have a seton ever since. It doesn't drain very much and does not involve my vagina (thankfully). I haven not heard of anyone else with a J pouch having this surgery . Has anyone talked to any doctors about this?
