Hello, Yes, I've had a 'sphincteroplasty' which I think is probably the same as what you are talking about. In my case, it was to heal a rectovag fistula (occurred after my jpouch surgery) I'm pretty sure that a fistula is somewhat similar to a fissure. Please don't worry too much. I was terrified at the thought of having that area cut into, but it turned out to be quite a minor surgery compared to what I/you have been through before. If I can give you any advice at all, I will simply say that you should take it very very easy after your surgery. Rest for as long as you can to give the fissure repair a chance to heal.
As for the surgery itself, again, you will be pleasantly surprized to find it is not nearly as bad as you are worrying it will be.
Of course, you want to ensure your surgeon is a good one, but that is obvious.
Take care, and breathe a little easier-
best wishes, seffy

Welcome to the site! I too had a sphincteroplasty surgery, mine also was for a fistula. THis was years ago, but I too found it not too bad, I had an ostomy so that helped. Try not to be too scared because if it can help and get you back to a pain free life I am sure it will be well worth it.
