I had takedown just before Christmas 2007 and was doing quit well until I needed several antibiotics for a throat infection. After that, I started getting all the same symptoms of colitis again and it's NOT going well. I was tested once for C. diff but people are saying that it can take several tests. Can anyone share/comment on my experience???

Thomas (age 17, j-pouch since age 9) developed c. diff last year after being on Augmentin for too many weeks for sinus problems. He also had c. diff 10 years ago, before developing UC and having surgery. I have heard of people getting false negatives, but his c. diff tests have always been positive the first tilme. C. diff and pouchitis symptoms can be similar--though being on antibiotics generally does not cause pouchitis.
