I have posted about how well my takedown went. (I'm a week and two days out now.) I have had little to no urgency and perfect control. Now, for the last two days, I have only had about 3 bowel movements a day. Should I be worried about blockages? Only one of the three have been much at all, the other two are relatively small. I do not have any pain, though, so I'm thinking it couldn't be a blockage happening, right? To be honest, I am not being very careful with my diet, because things have been going so well. Is there suck thing as a blockage that happens slowly? Or should I just shut up and be happy?

If you're having no pain then it probably isn't a blockage. And if you're feeling fine, then you probably ARE fine. Maybe you're just one of the very lucky j-pouchers who only goes to the bathroom a few times a day. So unless there is something else going on other then the small number of BM's, just go out and do a happy dance. And you get to be the j-pouch poster child!

Hopefully you are the poster child of jpouches. But if you are concerned, then go on a liquid diet for a day or so in the event that it could be a slight blockage and see if things change. If it is a slight blockage then the liquid diet wont cause it to get worse and may resolve it on it's own. Just make sure that when you do eat that you really chew well and drink lots of fluids. Are you drinking enough fluids?

My daughter with a jpouch only goes once a day. She really is a poster child for the jpouch.
