Hi all, I have some pain in my rear (kind of feels like a bruise of sorts). It really hurts. No doc appt. available until the 31st. I am hoping there is nothing serious going on. I can feel it during bms especially. Never had complications before. All in one surgery 9/06. Thanks. Brian

Could it be hemroids? Try using hemroid cream and see if that helps. Hope you feel better soon.

I'm having some pretty good luck lately (as beucfree noted) with nupercainal. Seems to cool things off a bit and ease swelling. if more of a defined bump/bulge you do probably want to keep an eye on it. I had an anal abscess (eventually had it surgically removed). They have always told me when I asked questions to the docs about it whether or not there is drainage and/or whether I have a fever. So I will pass those on to you (from my docs) as two things to keep an eye out for. Diagnosed May 2005 unsuccessful 6-mp,remicade,humira 2008-2010 Recurrent C. brian, forgot to mention the other one that has saved me many nights in recent weeks/months is something that was suggested to me in this forum. Keep a tub of noxema cleansing cream in the shower. It is incredibly soothing when really sore or burning. I asked my surgeon just to be sure and he said no problems with using noxema down there for that type of thing. Not sure where in "the rear" you feel this pain. My primary symptom of my anal fistula, was pain that felt a lot like a bruise, near what I call the "sit bone" of my left butt cheek. I hope this is not what you are dealing with. I have had rectal pressure as a symptom of pouchitis, and other sore inflamed tissues around the anus, related to overuse (i.e. pouchitis and increased frequency). And I also had a small, <1cm "lump near the anal canal that was palbable and somewhat sore when pressed on, that turned out to be nothing-like a stich leftover from surgery years ago that was working it's way to the surface. Best of luck- Dx age 10-1982 Colon removed/Pouch age 19-Aug 1991 Takedown Dec 1991 Anal fistula surgery Dec 1998 Sphincter repair Aug 1999
