Hello everyone....I have been dealing with puochitis for about four weeks now, my doc had me on cipro and flagl...and they seemed to work while i was on them but as soon as they were stoped my same symptoms came back, so the doc scheduled me for a scope on monday so he can better see whats going on I guess. My guestion is, since yesterday I have been getting this awedull pain in my abdomin area as well as my lower back....and when I use the restroon it is just pure liquid comming out, like water. And its very painful, it also only seems to want to come out when it wants too, it just feels like a lot of presure, very uncomfortable, and Im having to go very frequent. Does anyone have any advice for me? I would just like some insight...Thankyou

Alysha

This could easily be pouchitis. Pouchitis that recurs after antibiotics can be chronic, but it is too soon to tell for you right now. It could just be a very severe case that requires a longer and stronger course of meds. It is appropriate to be scoped when you have recurrent symptoms. I had a similar thing that turned out to be cuffitis and pouchitis combined. The antibiotics took care of things pretty well for the pouchitis, but the cuffitis would remain as residual inflammation after the antibiotics were stopped. Mesalamine suppositories took care of it.

Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.
