Anyone have some advise on butt burn at night? Mine starts about 12:30 and likes to keep me up for an hour or two.

Any pain-relieving gels.....?

Has anyone tried aloe?

I don't use these but a lot of people here do. Ilex and Calmoseptine. If you'll look at the top of this screen these products are advertised.

Try calmoseptine, it helped my son immensely when he had "butt burn". Most pharmacies will order it for you if they don't carry it. Certain acidic foods made it worse-e.g., spaghetti sauce, tacos, etc... Hope this helps.

My daughter had terrible butt burn and I ordered ilex and calmoseptine from the pharmacy. They had it for me less than 24 hours later. In the meantime try plain zinc oxide as that is the active ingredient in the calmoseptine and there is zinc in the ilex. If you're very raw use the ilex first as the calmoseptine has a tingle which may cause burning. If you're not so raw you may like the tingling. Also, when using the ilex make sure to use the coating of vaseline. These things work wonders.

I use both Calmoseptine and Ilex. For normal not horrible BB (which is almost nonexistent 3 months after TD) I use the Calmoseptine. When it was really bad, I would use the Ilex. Don't forget when using Ilex you have to put a layer of Vaseline over it.

I also used all the above with good success. But the best so far to really get rid of the pain has been a perscription of 2% Lidocaine gel. Takes the pain away and the I put on the Calmoseptine over it. Really has helped me not go crazy with pain.

Hi Jeff,
The below remedy helped me when nothing else would. I hope it does the same for you.

1. Boil 4 tea bags of Chamomillie
2. Pour into Sitz Bath container
3. Add 1 Tablespoon of Vinegar

As hot as you can stand it; Sit in the sitz bath for about 5-10 minutes. This was a true miracle for my behind.
Let me know the results.
Talk to you soon.

When I was discharged from the hospital after TD, they gave me Calmoseptine which has been a godsend.. I also got a Rx for 5% lidocaine ointment which worked wonders on those really "hot" days. 2% Lido is usually OTC, but anything higher than 2% is Rx only.

Not sure if mine is more "raw ass" or butt burn, but I have been using that aloe stuff for sunburn that has lidocane in it and I really like it. The gel seems to make it less messy than creams and it lasts forever. Very soothing-and cheap, and you can get it anywhere. Just an idear! Wink

You've been told about Calmoseptine and Ilex, but one more tool in your toolbox should be Balneol. You can get it at major drug stores. Use it to get spotless after a bm, pain will stop, then apply a little Calmoseptine as a moisture barrier. If you put the calmoseptine on before you are absolutely clean the but burn wont go away
