Hi. I'm 11 days post takedown surgery, and I'm freaking out a bit about nightime incontinence. Maybe more than a bit.
Some nights, I have drifted off into a deep sleep and woke up with an unwelcome surprise in my underwear. Nasty. I've been reading about different strategies. One is to find a rectal physical therapist. Can anyone recommend an effective RPT in NYC? Jonathan |

Hello there,
I have not heard about rectal physical therapist. However I recommend keagel exercises...also eat things to thicken the output, and don't eat too late at night...11 days after the take down it's still too soon to control your bowel movements 100%...things will get better...give it sometime!! |

This can actually be totally normal and will resolve with time. I'm thinking that at 11 days out you're probably sleeping pretty deeply because of what your body has been through. I'd also guess it's not yet time for the rectal physical therapist.
You might just want to use sanitary pads for a while until things even out. No more freaking out, okay? Welcome to the site. kathy *********************************************************** Lately it occurs to me, what a long strange trip it's been..... Grateful Dead |
