So I think the bleeding started a month or so ago. I tried the nitroglycerine and the bleeding stopped for like 2 days then came back. I was under the impression that it was a fissure because of the pain, but the pain stopped like, the day after I started using the nitro. However....I'm still bleeding. It's about a teaspoonful, every time I go. I really don't think its a fissure, because I've had a fissure for forever. I think it was a coincidence that I had BB and bleeding at the same time.

So if its not a fissure, and I have no pain whatsoever, what is the bleeding from??

A teaspoon at a time is a lot of blood, especially if you're going as much as the average poucher. Have you been checked for cuffitis? When was your last scope?

I think you need to put in a call and get checked out. A scope would tell the story.

I had a scope in July. He said everything looked "great." Could cuffitis be possible, even though I don't have pain? The blood is bright red, so obviously its lower, but could it be something like an abcess? I'm have an appointment in october...is it really a bad idea to wait? I mean, its really not bothering me and I feel no worse than normal, its just that the amount of blood is rather alarming...

Is it possible you have a bleeding hemorrhoid?

Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.

A teaspoon each time you go? Mostly in the bowl? Any on the paper? My surgeon told me not to worry about blood because I have an anal stricture, and it is bound to get beat up. However, if you don't have a stricture, maybe it is an internal hemmorhoid. But I thought those hurt like hell, too, no?
I think you should at least call the doc to let him/her know. Better safe than sorry.
