Ok odd question. I had surgery to correct a complex, branching fistula about a year ago. The fistula originally had one opening, but then a small branch came off of that from the rear, right up along the perineum towards my scrotum. It eventually opened up and drained. After having the surgery to fix it, I had an ileostomy for 10 months, then the reversal. Everything went smoothly and I was beginning to get back to exercising. However yesterday, about 4 weeks after the takedown, I began to have a sore muscle pain right up against my rectum where the old branch used to be. Mind you, the original fistula site doesn't hurt at all and there is absolutely no blood in my stool or discharge from the old fistula opening. I haven't had any fever or swelling either. Has anyone else had an experience like this? Any advice other than waiting to see if it goes away and if not call the doctor?
I had my first step of a 3 (but hopefully 2) step procedure 2 weeks ago and have started having shooting pains every once in a while around my rectum. They seem to appear when I urinate (but not exclusively). I didn't start having them until I became sexually active again (about 4 days ago) so for me it might be that those muscles associated with ejaculation are still trying to "figure" out what has gone on. Still nothing like the UC days.
I am seeing my doc tomorrow and will ask him. About my pains specifically and these kinds of pains more generally.
