I've had may J-pouch since 1995 and have been in constant pain since. I have up to 24 bowel movements a day and I cannot eat anything that is not soft. The anal area is constantly inflamed with bleeding lesions and very painful. Has anyone out there had this experience?

Glad you found us. This is a great site. Just a thought...but after 15 years of constant pain...you might want to see a doctor and find out whats wrong. Best of luck.

Yes, this is not right. Something is definitely going wrong here. What have your doctors said?

Hi Sandy, I've had a J pouch since 1991, and never really been that happy with it, although I've had nothing like the problems experienced by alot of the poor things writing to this site. I too have anal pain, and am now now sick of it, with no proper answers have decided to return to the illeo. I hope you find out whats causing your pain soon. Have been on Endone but that has stopped working so now on OxyContin timed release tablets, they are good!! Perhaps you could ask to try them, stopped all the throbbing and aching. Good Luck, Heather

I too have had alot of pain since my takedown in March 09. I still have to take percocet, but I just started Cymbalta to help with the pain. So far, it seems to help alot. I have only been taking it three weeks, but I can really tell a difference. Now, when I take a percocet, it actually takes the pain away! I am thrilled with Cymbalta and hope that it continues to work!!!
