Started a few days ago, been MTB riding a lot. Started with some diarea on Friday whic ended, and a sore rectum. No bloood, no fevor just a raw rectum, and a small bump located at the end of my rectum closer to the end of my tail bone. When I go to the washroom it kills and my spinkter muscle spasms..No issues with eating and bowel movements are normal for a j-poucher

Any ideas??

Thanks

Sounds like a perianal abscess. Try hot soaks several times a day, and get yourself into your doctor's office to have this drained before the pain sends you to the moon. It could also be an anal fissure. The home treatment would be the same.

Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.

Jan,

I have an appointment with my GI on Monday but my GP placed me on cipro and metronidazone on Wednesday. Today the pain is has come down and I feel a lot better. I took a look this afternoon and noticed that its popped, it's still a bump around the size of a quarter, I have no fever and feel fine, is it possible that an abscess can pop or might I have another issue.

Thanks
Don

Yes, frequently abscesses open and drain on their own. It is very painful just before they burst and the pain subsides immediately. Then, you just need to keep it open and draining with soaks. By now, your GI is confirming this.
