My understanding is that it is not the fentanyl that causes the tooth decay, but the sugar in the lollipop or lozenge. This is no different than sucking on candy and tooth decay can be prevented easily with appropriate dental hygiene. Of course, you should be told about this when you are using it. Plus, I don't see why they would not use the patch over the lozenge, for better narcotic coverage...

I was dealing with reocurring sores under my tounge & back of my throat & I heard to take suppliment Lysine.
