Hello...I just found the long thread about rectovaginal fistulae and thought I would start a new one, because I have a procedure coming up. I'm having the plug put in that some of you have had, and this is actually the second time I'm trying this. This time I am supposed to restrict my "exertion," so I'm taking off work for a week and won't do much, in order to allow things to heal properly (was anyone else told to do this?). I'm surprised to hear that others have associated their problems with bartholin's cyst, because I think this happened to me too. I'm pretty darn sure, actually.

Anyone with fibrin plug repair still symptom free? Thanks!

Hi,
I thought I'd respond, tho I haven't had the fibran sealant. I seem to have a fistula once again, and I'm being told a reconstruction is an option. This seems terribly extreme to me, so if I were you, I'd go for the sealant and yes, take it easy afterward.
I've had two previous sugeries in the attempt to deal w. the rv fistula and neither worked- one was done vaginally simply by trying to stitch it together, the other was thru the perineum and I'm not even sure anymore what exactly he did w. that one other than create other problems. anyway , main point i'm trying to make is that both times after those surgeries I was told to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, so as to avoid putting any strain on those muscles etc.

What is a bartholin's cyst?

I wish you lot's of luck with the fibrin plug- please repost when you get a chance as I'd be Very interested in hearing how it goes.
take care and take it easy after the surgery- it's not as easy as it sounds, especially when you feel fine. I always ended up vacuuming out of sheer boredome and got yelled at for it by my husband.
