I have two rectovaginal fistulae which have caused me untold hell over the past four years added to a nasty anal fissure that refused to heal. Anyway, there is hope for everyone on all fronts.

I emailed the doctor supervising the trials, Dr. Garcia Olmo, who said that he hopes that after they conclude clinical trials with the next 18 months that "the proceedure(which involves transplanting stem cells to the fistula which then grow and fill the fistula channel)will be spreading to several hospitals around the world." I am keeping in touch with Dr. Garcia Olmo and will post developments as they occur. This could be the big break all of us fistula sufferers are looking for.
