I just joined this site. I have not had UC long--diagnosed in September of 2005. I have been on prednisone since then as no treatment has worked. Asacol brought on a flare; I don't have the enzyme to properly metabolize 6-MP; I had a bad reaction to Remicade; drug trial for Abatacept did not help. My entire colon is affected and my GI said that it is time for surgery. I am scheduled for surgery at Mt. Sinai in NYC on Feb 25, 2008 with Dr. Michael Harris. Does anyone know Dr. Harris? Thank you for your help.

don't know the doctor but if you have any questions about the surgery.. don't hesitate to ask!

Dr Michael Harris was partnered with Dr Joel Bauer at one time. From what I have heard, he is an excellent surgeon and you are in good hands.
