I had my takedown surgery in April 08 and I am doing well, but I am troubled with spasms and gas pain that send me to the bathroom. My dr. is now telling me that apparently I must of had IBS before I had UC. He has me on medication but, it's not really helping. Does anyone have any suggestions

Pete, My doc just gave me Librax, which works really good for the spasms but one negative side effect is that it makes me really tired. I usually take one before bed and it helps to also get a good night sleep. Good Luck, Scott Mc

my gastro dr. has me on hyoscyamine. i put one under my tonue when the cramps get to bad.

I was given Robaxin - a muscle relaxant - that I took/take when this is happening and it does help. I know howmuch it can hurt - it has decreased with time.
