i had recently the first stage of j pouch surgery have a temp ostomy, things are going ok i guess , but i am having a problem with the skin around the stoma getting irritated and burnt, i use ostomy powder and paste along with a skin barrier, and barrier rings, but still getting irritated, any advice would be helpfull. | |||

Ross, So sorry you're having these problems. Instead of listing tricks of all kinds, I suggest you use the 'Find' feature and search for threads and posts that are full of all kinds of tricks that really work. Is it possible that you are allergic to any one of the items you are using? You are how you act, not just what you believe. Diagnosed UC 1982 Ileostomy 2006 - Never felt better. | ||||

You can try a different bag system. You can try an adhesive remover when you change your bags. You can change more often. Is it a rash, a sore , burning. I have to powder blow off and spray 3 times then put on bag. I also delay taping to give the area fresh air. Also call an ostomy nurse and her look ...she will give you some feedback. Is the bag leaking? | ||||
