I was diagnosed with rectal cancer in 1999. I underwent surgery to remove tumor and I had a colostomy. It was later reversed but I have been incontinent for the past 9 years. The radiation (I am told) has caused a very irritable bowel. There are days I am in the toilet 6 to 8 hours. I wear Depends but they are not reliable for feces. My anal area is sensitive and bleeds and tears very easily. I am considering k-pouch surgery. I didn't like the colostomy because it leaked and the bag would leak...etc. I would love advice, information for those who have had problems similiar to mine. Thank you, in advance.
