I am sorry to hear that you've not been helped with the treatments. Some of the best GIs in Los Angeles are at Cedars Sinai or USC. I am not sure about UCLA. I hope you can find some relief.

I know there is Dr. James Yoo and Dr. Johnathon Sack at UCLA. Dr. Yoo is my surgeon and is a great guy. I live 5-6 hours from LA and communicate with him through email a lot and Responds very promptly. I haven't had my takedown yet so I cannot speak of his post takedown experience or ability but he has been a blessing so far.

Dr. Howard Kaufman at USC is my Doctor and he is the BEST....He saved my life, and will try everything to help you. He is wonderful as well as his staff. You should definitely call him, that is the number in the comment right before me!

I would contact Dr. Goldklang - offices in Encinitas and La Jolla. He is very well respected in the San Diego medical community and is both my husband's and my GI doc. I saw Dr. Kim for a while but he did not seem to have enough experience with more difficult GI stuff. Dr. Goldklang treated my husband's pouchitis and diarrhea (paregoric helped) and my husband's surgeon is Dr. Launer who is also really good, but unfortunately is off for a month (ill) however you could see his partner Worsey or his new associate Dr. Salganick (woman) who is really nice - a surgeon with a personality! Dr. Goldklang's Encinitas office # is 760-783-0441. Good luck to you!

I also had Dr. Howard Kaufman as my surgeon and now my follow up Dr. He is great and has a nice bedside manner also. And what a dapper dresser. Just google his name to see how accomplished he is.

A GI Doc in Beverly Hills is Sorrya Ross. 310-888-1234. I dont know how much of an expert on J-pouches she is. (she wants me on 6mp, and i have not even talked to her about surgery) but she may be worth the call.
