I was doing my usual go through the closet, not finding anything to wear. I was pawing through a stack of pants that I haven't wore in a long time. Now I should preface this by saying, my last round of prednisone (before my first step surgery last August) I ballooned up to a size 20, bordering on a 22. Today...I grabbed a pair of black jeans size 14, and thought, "I wonder how far I am from getting into these?" I tried them on....and HOLY COW Eeker...they fit!
Now they are kind of stretchy, but I don't care...they are still a 14.
My normal size is 8, sometimes a 6.

I'm getting there! Slowly but surely!!! Smiler

Have a fabulous day!

I have come to believe if the doctors look hard enough, they will find something wrong somewhere!

Congratulations Big Grin

I kept some 'skinny' clothes in the back of my closet and it feels great to be able to get back into them.

I know that once I was off the pred I was so happy when the extra weight came off.

Yeah, I felt skinny for about six months...then I packed it all on, and then some. But, at least I am healthy!

You guys make me envious...

Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.

The only time I was skinny was when I was sick -now I am definitely on the other side of skinny, back to the fat pants for me. But like Jan said, at least I am healthy!

Oh, how I can relate! I lost 100 pounds in two years due to UC and surgery complications. I started on prednisone...again...for my liver disorder and gained 40 pounds back in one short month! I hate feeling "fat" again, but when I think about it again, I know I look and feel healthier!

Congrats! I lost 14 lbs in a week when I had mono last year, and went down to a size zero...I went to the doctors for a follow-up because I was terribly sick, and exclaimed, "JESUS, MONO IS THE BEST DIET EVER!" And what was amazing was I was eating McDonalds three times a day because nothing else appealed to me. God, it was nice. Smiler

It's hard, being in highschool and trying to gain weight to be healthy when you know that being accepted means being skin and bones. But I'm trying.

MY GOD COMPLICATIONS!- two abscessed wounds, two surgeries, an ileus, raging e.coli infection, drain in my buttcheek to drain a pocket of infection the size of a basketball, TPN and IV antibiotics for a month, BUT I'M ALIVE!
5/23-hospitalized again, e.coli infection came back....iv antibiotics again. blood clot found from picc line. neverending!
6/21 hospitalized...again. e.coli and staph. drain again.
